Everyday NhanSense: Each day, I will blog about something that comes to mind. My goal is to practice writing about my hobbies, my interests, my opinions and so forth.
Day 67’s Topic: Shopping for things.
When you’re poor as heck like me, you don’t think about things as being essentials until you essentially need them.
For a long time, I have been without the convenience/luxury/necessity of a microwave.
My gosh, what a pain!
But fortunately today, I finally could pick up this wondrous box that will bring me better meals in a couple of seconds.
Don’t get me wrong. I love to cook and all, but my current place doesn’t have a stove or oven for me to accommodate my particular hobby. Money is also tight, which means I have to budget around easier-to-prepare meals until I can eventually purchase better cooking equipment, therefore being actually capable of making the kind of food I want.
Until then, think of this microwave as a godsend. No longer will my food need to be cold to the touch. No longer shall I have to endure not having hot food when I want it.
Heck, I got so used to eating food cold that I thought I was losing my mind. Seriously. At the very least, the microwave shows I am getting more stability in life. It’s a microwave now, a table to eat on later and then a whole lot more! Oh boy!
With this microwave, I can slowly progress toward better things. If I can eat with more variety (granted, microwave-ready foods can only go so far), I can be a happier person in general.
I will admit some of my last meals for the past month have entailed a lot of chips or quick-access munchies because a lack of a means of heating up the food practically deterred me from picking up other items at the grocery store.
Oh well. Everything is gonna get a bit better from here on out.
It’s time I fire up this bad boy and warm up some leftovers.
I can taste it right now …
